Front Porch in
White City
Our client wanted to expand the space of the deck to create a hangout area. Collaborating on the design, we built a pergola style roof frame with clear, polycarbonate roofing to allow for maximum light. We gave it two sets of deep tread stairs to allow space for large planted pots. A built in swing in lieu of a railing rounded out the design. Because the deck height was less than 30” above grade, a railing was not needed. The railings were given 2x6 top rails to allow space for the placement of potted plants. A skirt of cement board buried below the soil level was installed around the perimeter of the frame to keep critters out. This was a fun porch to put together and came out beautifully.
