This porch’s footings had rotted away and the deck was turning into a soup bowl. We removed the decking, jacked the frame back up to level, reset the footings, and replaced the decking. The porch’s posts supporting the roof were extensions of the railing posts, and were connected very “creatively.” Since the porch itself was not connected to the building we replaced the posts to sturdy up the roof frame. We then shored up the deck stairs and added a railing.
